STARFLEET News

The latest news and announcements from STARFLEET, The International Star Trek Fan Association, Inc.

Welcome to the new SFI.org! This is just the 1st Phase of a 3 Phase process for this project. The main goal of Phase 1 was to migrate the website to the new management platform, and site theme. During the process we have updated and streamlined a few things, but there is much more to be accomplished, and ask that you continue to bear with us as we push forward. Phase 2 of this project will be to redo a variety of the content on the website to ensure everything is updated with the latest information, and review of accuracy. There are a couple of new features that will also be rolled out during this phase, including blogs for all the Executive Committee (EC) Members, and finalizing the new event calendar processes. We will also be taking a hard look at the region/chapter finder, and evaluating how to best serve our organization in that area. Further we are working on a access bridge to the main SFI Database to provide a single signon process for both the SFI DB and our main web site and resources. As such the account registration feature is disabled. The major con to this is that until this Phase is complete members will not be able to submit items to the event calendar. We apologize for this inconvience but it is a necessary measure at this time. This phase is expected to last just a few weeks. Phase 3 of this project will concentrate on developing a variety of new features and aspects of the website, and bringing a variety of 'fleet' level websites and departments closer together. We will also be working on the flow of the site, and taking feedback on useability and effectiveness of the site. This Phase will most likely take at least a month, and once the initial goals of this phase are complete ultimately this is will lead to an ongoing maintenance and development process.
